I know, I could have been much more creative with my title. Let's move on anyway.
There is a music video being circulated called "Two Roosters Don't Make No Egg" that I'd like to address. As the educated people cringe at the horrific grammar, it gets even worse. I refuse to post a link to the video, as I do not wish to drum up publicity for it, but it's basically an old redneck and his wife on a farm singing about not liking gay people, and semi-quoting the Christian god. They sing about how unnatural homosexuality is; as compared to animals in nature, and that their "god" didn't intend for this to happen, because the Bible says so. We've heard the rhetoric before, but this time, they've put their idiocracy to music.
This video is the type of uneducated redneck mentality that continues to misrepresent religion and embarrass our country. It's very true, that two roosters do not make an egg; and that two bulls cannot make a cow; as Joe-Bob idiot so eloquently states as the banjo plays.
But it's also true that scientific research from October 2004 and June 2008, proved that women tend to have more children when they inherit the same genetic factors linked to homosexuality in men. This fertility keeps the “gay” genetic factors in circulation. A lead researcher on the project said: "You have all this antagonism against homosexuality because they say it's against nature because it doesn't lead to reproduction. We found out this is not true because homosexuality is just one of the consequences of strategies for making females more fecund."
I know it's hard for Christians to accept any statements that aren't in the Bible, but research it for yourself, and you will see that it's just as genetically and naturally repulsive for homosexuals to choose the opposite sex as it is for you or I to choose the same sex. It's in our genes, and it's in theirs; only opposite.
It is of the utmost discrimination to make fun of people for their genetic make up, which they had no say in. Folks that make videos like this only confirm that they are not educated on the topic, and choose to proudly showcase their ignorance set to music. If they would put just half the energy into objectively researching homosexuality, that it takes to write these songs, this world would be a much better place, and the hate would cease to spread.
Furthermore, this "god" referred to in the video that says "love your brother, but not like that" also says to stone your child to death if he misbehaves (Deuteronomy 21:18-21), and kill anyone that works on Sunday (Exodus 35:2), and that women are less than men (1st Corinthians 14:34), and to kill anyone that cheats on their spouse (Leviticus 20:10). Although, Leviticus 20:13 does say to kill homosexuals as well, but according to the gospels, how are any of us better than gays? We'd all be put to death by now anyway if it were up to the Christian Bible.
Food for thought. Chew on that.

Please tell me that you are not still in an email battle with certain people about religious beliefs?
You keep referring to Ex and Det of the bible for your defense for women and homesexuals and against God. Please Please read on. Stop using the bible to sell your magazine and make you look as though you have more wisdom than you do.

God did not test Abraham by the sword (as we know the sword), but He did so by the trust as a father would his son in any test you could produce.
God did not stone adulters and kill fornicators. He did however, kill their ways if thats what they asked for which is what belivers did and still do.
God made woman for man and man for woman.
He did not make man for man and woman for woman. If that was His intention, then you could not reproduce.

Well, first, I'd like you to read my post. I have never quoted the Old Testament as it pertains to women. That came straight out of 1st Corinthians 14 and 1st Timothy 2, both written by Paul in the New Testament. I'd like your comments on that.
It's a typical theistic move to pick and choose what parts of the Bible suit you, so I'm not surprised. You throw out Exodus and Leviticus because they sound too harsh, yet attempt to quote parrables that tell a good story, but only live by about 3 of the commandments because those are too literal, yet you support the creation account and a talking snake.
So let me get this straight. Yahweh created the Earth, Sun, the entire universe, clouds and atmosphere out of completely nothing, yet required a man's rib to create a woman. Sure, that sounds logical.
Try picking and choosing which rules you 'like' out of the handbook at your job and see how far that gets you. Don't take it too literally, now.
And what's this "putting to death evil from your mind?" I'm not even sure what means, but the Bible clearly says, in Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (King James Version):
18) If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
19) Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
20) And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
21) And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
We're not talking about putting a way thoughts. We're putting a child to death: in the name of your Lord.
When I had 4 roosters, they would have sex with each other. Then I ate two of them, and the ratio of roosters to hens dropped, and they stopped. Maybe two roosters don't make an egg, but they didn't seem to care too much.
On another note, hens make eggs even if roosters aren't around, so the rednecks' song makes no sense anyway.
I also wonder if he knows that semen is collected from stud bulls by placing a plastic "receptacle" on steers? Then the collected semen is diluted and shipped out to artificially inseminate hundreds of cows from that one encounter. (ironically that would be two bulls making hundreds of calves...)
Anyway, my point is just that our sex drive is like all other animals'; its not directly tied to a desire to reproduce, but is merely tied to what we are physically attracted to, regardless of what people using the bible to push their own agenda would suggest.
I'd like to make one final comment on this topic.
The man's song is basically stating that if two animals can't make another life, it shouldn't have sex.
According to his theory, the following people should not have sex:
1. Naturally Infertile Men & Women
2. Men & Women with medical problems preventing conception
3. Anyone who has had surgery which prevents conception
4. Anyone who is too old to have children
5. Couples that use birth control or condoms
So there you have it; the majority of the world has been having sinful, useless sex for years. Why do we ostracize the gay community for doing the same thing?
well its my opimion they we are supposed to be at the top of the animal kingdom ,but take a look if there are females with the males there are not any same sex bull goining on in the (lower animal kimgdom) now since there are almost 2 females for every male ,I have trouble thinking we are the Highest Order since it dosent seem to matter what the ratio is they still perfer same sex soul mates, you queers have been trying to justifcite your perversion just admit that yo are a abnormal human and let it gp.

I received this video today as a joke. I don't think it's funny. I think the people that wrote it and performed it are ignorant and mean.
I believe that this kind of song can do much more harm than good. Homosexuality is totally normal. Get used to it, people, please!

I actually agree with you. I know that homosexuality is not natural in the sense of procreation. That's a scientific fact,and I would never state otherwise.
I realize that a male human being born with an attraction to other males is not conducive to the progression of a species. Therefore, technically, I suppose we could call it a malformation during the fetal development process; but then again, so are dimples.
The natural biology of an individual's inability to procreate should have no bearing on the level of discrimination they face in our society. What about men that have low sperm counts, and can't reproduce? Should our government allow them to get married?
And yes, religion plays a major role in the discrimination of gays, which is why the Mormon church alone donated more than $30 million to support Proposition 8 in California.
My point is, we've proven over and over in our society that sex isn't just for procreation anymore. If you want to support laws preventing gays from having sex just because they can't make babies, you should also support laws preventing masturbation, and preventing the use of contraception - because those are only used for purposes of pleasure and cannot result in procreation.
In fact, while we're at it, we should outlaw any post-menopausal woman from having sex, because she can't procreate. We'll also have to outlaw adult novelties, because their focus is pleasure, and not procreation.
Oral sex? Gone. Foreplay? Illegal.
At some point, even you would have a problem with the government being in your bedroom.
I usually delete these types of insults from both sides of either argument, and I'm always encouraging fellow liberals and atheists to debate with compassion and understanding, as that's the only way to make a difference.
But you seem to push the buttons of people on purpose to try to get them to become an immoral person that you can insult even more. So I'm leaving this post up, to be the embarrassment it is, so that others can see that we do not have to play your game in order to get our points across.

I love when people say homosexuality is unnatural. While I do not think gay marriage should be legal... What do you mean by natural? If I had to guess I would say you mean against god. The problem of course is that we Atheists do not believe in god. If you say "even if you don't believe in god, homosexuals dont reproduce so how can that be natural.". that is part of the Christian fallacy, you assume that sex must always be procreative. We on the other hand hold that things such as masturbation and sex for the sake of the pure physical enjoyment of sex is valued for its own sake. If I masturbate another man to show him how I feel about him spiritually this is only natural and good.

Your magic words have no meaning here, or anywhere. If you believe reality is just a trick that god is playing on you then wow, you are far gone.
Many people argue against homosexuality saying it's "unnatural". That's incorrect and unfortunately only a homosexual has absolute proof of this because they and they alone know that they were born the way they are. Procreation is not possible for homosexuals but that in no means makes it "unnatural", by that definition a sterile heterosexual man or woman in a relationship is unnatural simply because they cannot conceive.
